The selection of the proper Reservoir Drill-in Fluid (RDiF) is vital in any production well. As there are several design criteria that must be dealt with in conjunction with an RDiF, this presentation will provide an overview of the different aspects associated with the RDiF concept. Design, benefits, and limitations of the various systems will be discussed. Furthermore, a brief description of commonly used RDiFs will be presented in combination with unique and specially developed systems, as well as laboratory testing and software tools used to optimize the RDiF selection procedure.
Ole Iacob works as an Advisor in M-I SWACO’s European Technical Centre, dealing with support to customers worldwide. He has recently been involved in several patents. Ole Iacob is regarded as an authority within the fields of hole cleaning, drilling optimization, and drilling hydraulics. He has a wide experience in the planning and execution of challenging wells such as ERD, HTHP and deepwater wells. Ole Iacob has previously held several managerial positions within M-I SWACO.
