PRESIDENT

Bjørn V. Nystrand, A/S Norske Shell: He has a MSc in Petroleum engineering from the Rogaland University Center. He has been working in  A/S Norske Shell since August 2002,  and is currently holding a position as Petrophysicist in the Ormen Lange team . Prior to joining Shell he had 5 years with Enterprise Oil. He has also had positions as reservoir engineer with the NPD and field engineer with  Maritime Well Service.

VP PROGRAM

Robert Laronga presently works for Schlumberger in Stavanger as Sales and Marketing Manager for wireline.  Robert graduated from Cornell University in 1994 with B.A. degrees in Archaeology and Geology.  Shortly afterward, he started with Schlumberger as a wireline Field Engineer in the U.S. and has held various positions over the last ten years, including his favorite assignment working in remote areas of the world on the Ocean Drilling Program.  Main areas of expertise include borehole image and NMR applications and wireline operations.

VP FINANCE

Ingrid Piene, Norsk Hydro: MSc PetroleumGeology from NTNU, one exchange year at University of Texas (UT). Joined Schlumberger Wireline as a field engineer spring 2000. Worked 2 ½ year offshore and onshore Indonesia. Started in the autumn of 2002 and currently working for Norsk Hydro as a Petrophysicist in the Oseberg field.

Alv Aanestad, Statoil: MSc physics NTNU, Dr.ing. X-ray diffractometry NTNU, 6 years at SINTEF (metal forming/cold and hot rolling, data modelling), 2 years at Rogaland Research Institute (materials technology, automation), since 1988 in oil industry (Statoil) as petrophysicist, covering single and multiwell evaluations, various field studies, core and log data acquisition planning and operations, production logging operations and evaluations, special reservoir quality studies.

VP PUBLIC RELATIONS

Robert Askew: Sperry-Sun, Halliburton. B.Sc. Geological Geophysics, Reading University. After working as a mining geologist and wireline engineer joined Sperry-Sun in 1981. Currently working as MWD\LWD petrophysicist.
